Justina grew up in the breathtaking landscapes of Tanzania, where her love for cooking was ignited at a young age. From the tender age of seven, she spent countless hours in the kitchen, learning from the amazing women in her life-her mother and her big sister. Their culinary traditions and flavours inspire her to this day.
After moving to Cardiff over 20 years ago, Justina continued to nurture her passion for food by cooking for friends and family. With a diverse background that spans from banking to marketing, Justina is a multi- talented entrepreneur who has pursued various paths yet always found her way back to her love for cooking and community. In 2020, she set her sights on opening a restaurant, but the pandemic and lockdown forced her to pause that dream.
The turning point came after meeting her partner, Jason, whose unwavering support and encouragement reignited Justina's passion. After tasting her extraordinary dishes, he inspired her not just to dream but to take the leap. In June 2024, Justina made the bold decision to leave her stable job at a government department to fully embrace her culinary dreams and launch ONJA Taste of Tanzania.
